These meaningless songs have the power to bring us back to a certain time or feeling, and even more so to the moment when we first listened to them or even thought about them. This song and as well as “I Am The Walrus” and “Penny Lane” are examples of meaningless rock ‘n’ roll songs, in which we can claim as our own and relate the lyrics to ourselves in whatever it may be in our lives. All bands in rock ‘n’ roll have songs that leave it to the listener to come up with their own meaning. Lyrics don’t always have some underlying, deep meaning. What is a Magical Mystery Tour you ask? You learn very quickly that the art of The Beatles, and many others in the world of rock ‘n’ roll, is that it doesn’t matter. They scream “magical mystery tour” as if you are walking into a literal magical mystery tour, being joyfully demanded rather than invited, leaving a rather frightful feeling as you continue listening. Did you start tapping to the beat with your hand or foot? It’s hard not to. Its beyond unique and foreign sounds are impossible to pause, and it brings to us many aspects, emotions, and feelings of rock ‘n’ roll, which is why I believe that this record is a perfect beginning into the world of rock ‘n’ roll.īegin the album with the first song (I feel the need to state this as this seems to be a lost art in our world of streams and singles, but that conversation is for another time).
